HEAL’s Efforts Receive Recognition from the West Bengal Forest Department

29 July 2024

On Global Tiger Day 2024 (29 July), HEAL was honored by the West Bengal Forest Department at the Sundarban Tiger Reserve, in Sajnekhali!

HEAL’s Secretary, Suvrajyoti Chatterjee receives the honour

This recognition celebrates our tireless efforts in the Sundarbans; from providing relief and alternative livelihoods after cyclones like Yaas and Amphan, and mitigating human-snake conflict, to tackling plastic pollution and fishing techniques that harm the health of vital mangrove forests .

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Forest Department for this acknowledgment and to all our dedicated members, volunteers, and supporters who make our work possible.

We’re more committed than ever to protecting the Tiger’s habitat in Sundarbans and the incredible communities that reside in it.
