HEAL Participated at SCCS-Bengaluru 2024

21-24 October 2024

We had an enriching experience at the 15th SCCS-Bengaluru, India’s premier conference on ecology and conservation practice, tailored for students and early career researchers from India and around the world.

HEAL participated in the “Who’s Who in Conservation” session, where we got to showcase our ongoing efforts and highlight the diverse range of projects and initiatives which we work on. In addition, we engaged in workshops, plenary talks, student poster and oral presentations that the conference had to offer.

As first-time participants in the “Who’s Who” session, we were truly grateful for the enthusiasm and interest shown towards our work by young conservationists and students. Clearly the most popular medium of engagement was art as hundreds of eager minds was drawn to our corner courtesy of the dokra wildlife replicas. These replicas were sourced from artisanal dokra craftsmen and are testament of our initiatives to link biodiversity conservation with local livelihoods.

We are grateful for having shared this inspiring and motivating platform. We look forward to fostering new collaborations and building on these connections to further our conservation mission.
