Giving Back to our Community Conservation Partners

25 December 2023

At HEAL, we believe that true happiness lies in the joy of giving back to our communities. In Murshidabad district, our on-ground efforts are fortified by the incredible Pallishree Unnayan Samiti – a dedicated team of local fishermen from Pallisree Village in Bharatpur I block.

From restoring degraded wetlands and protecting migratory birds, to gathering crucial intel on wildlife criminals and saving freshwater turtles from illegal trade, our teammates from Pallisree have been our steadfast partners in conservation.

Winter has its own challenges, and every child deserves the comfort of warmth. With immense joy, HEAL donated winter clothing to the children of Pallisree village. Our aim in doing so was not to provide material comfort, but to share the warmth of community, solidarity, and the genuine spirit of togetherness.

We thank our member Sumanta Pramanick, in enabling us to actualise this intent and teammates Kankan Barman, Mintu sarkar, Aditya Pardhan, Santanu Das and Suvrajyoti Chatterjee for ensuring that the distribution activity went smoothly. We also express our sincere gratitude to the Kandi Range Forest Office for their cooperation in this effort.
