Presentation at the O/O Accountant General, West Bengal
July 9 2022
Team member Meghna Banerjee gave a presentation at the office of Accountant General, West Bengal on the conservation problems prevalent in the state and the efforts being taken by the stakeholders concerned to address them.
The three hour long training session involved a discussion about issues such as ritualistic hunting in southern districts of West Bengal, mitigating conflict with elephants and securing corridors for their safe passage, threats faced by gangetic river dolphin populations in West Bengal and conservation needs of West Bengal’s state animal, the fishing cat.
HEAL has been actively pursuing these conservation issues and has been working closely with state authorities and local communities to bring about tangible changes and visible impact on the ground.
