On 02 June 2023, our team facilitated the arrest of a major bird trader in Baruipur, South 24 Parganas.

According to intel gathered by our members, the trader not only sold birds, but also trafficked mongooses, cobras, and many other animals. The wildlife was smuggled into Baruipur from Assam, which indicated the presence of an elaborate trade network.

The South 24 Parganas Forest Division nabbed the trader at Baruipur railway station and recovered two Hill mynas from him. The culprit was sentenced to 7 days in judicial custody.
